Media. Visual Art
I began in theatre design and then moved into visual and sensory art. I make tactile pieces and environments to experience. I live in Knaresborough.
I have always been curious to explore textures, colours, shapes, materials and techniques. When working in theatre I loved working in non-traditional spaces, creating the magic of changing a space briefly into something else, the impermanence of the experience. I like to stimulate the senses and how art makes you feel not just what you think, and now I make work that is tactile and recently I have been using materials that are normally discarded such as single use plastics. I have been exploring how trash can be re-modelled and made beautiful – changing the viewers perspective on aesthetics and how we value precious resources and our place and responsibility on the planet.
