North Yorkshire Art Society Watercolour Workshop

Two two-hour watercolour workshops run by North Yorkshire Art Society.  Aimed at people with little or no experience of watercolour painting.  All materials and equpment will be provided within the ticket price.  Tickets are available from Flaithulach Music Shop opposite the bus station.  Adults only.

Flora and Fauna Painting and Drawing Workshop

Children’s Storytrail

What is the terrible secret underneath Knaresborough Castle?  A tale of medieval kidnapping, danger and courage! Start at the Library and follow the trail to the castle (includes a tour of the Castle and Sallyport), finishing in the Castle grounds.  Book in advance on 01609 533610.  For children aged between 5 and 8 who must be accompanied by an adult.

A dazzling, vibrant performance of song and dance, showcasing the talented youngsters from Studio 3 Dance Workshop.  A varied programme featuring ballet, tap, jazz, musical theatre, street dance and Riverdance, performed by pupils aged from 5 to 18.

Friends and Enemies – author Talk by Steven Turner-Bone

Join author Steven Turner-Bone as he talks about writing historical fiction and the fascination of 17th century surgery.  His book, Friends and Enemies, explores the hunt for a murderer during the Civil War.

Its 1642.  England is on the cusp of a catastrophic conflict when a  young woman is murdered.  Newly qualified surgeon Matthew Fletcher is determined to bring her killers to justice.

Burden of Paradise with Snake Davis

Voice, saxophone, double bass:  Watson sings like an angel, Davis oozes soul.  The band is acoustic – or ‘blindingly quiet’ as they have it, and play an enchanting range of songs from Elizabethan ballads to 80s torch songs, from Doris Day to Bob Dylan.

Burden of Paradise – Helen Watson and Dave Bowie Jr join Snake Davis in this special night of feva.  Sax, double bass and angelic singing.  Not to be missed.
